Hello all of you out there in TV Land!

I could totally call this the inaugural post and sound all sophisticated and shit, but lemme break it down for you:

1. I may call myself lots of things, but sophisticated is not one of them.
b. While this may be the inaugural post on THIS blog, it is far from the first introduction of myself, Samantha Fonzarelli, on the internet.  Also, is first introduction kind of redundant?
3. Um.  Yeah, two was all I had.

SO!  Hi there and hello!  I have been a journaling/blogging/writing-on-the-internet fiend since I was about fourteen when my journal entries were mainly about my teenage love life, the crazy slumber parties I had and Lucille Ball.  This one will basically be the same thing except now I'll talk about my adult love life, the crazy slumber parties I have with my two future stepchildren and Lucille Ball.  Oh and maybe wine.

See I had this blog I called "fairytangles" for nearly two years, even though I sporadically wrote in it, and I have come to the conclusion that in adult life, there are these things called bills and money and sometimes your budget can only squeeze out so much extra fun and sometimes those BLOGS YOU NEVER WRITE IN have to go to make room for brand-name toothpaste.  SO.  Here I am.

Obviously the blog name kinda explains itself, but I'll help you out some: I'm really into classic television.  Like, really.  And movies and actors and the entertainment industry in general, but there is something just so comforting about classic television.  I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that all of the problems and issues and worries are solved in thirty minutes, but I know that most of it has to do with classic television being the entire basis of my childhood.  I grew up on Nick @ Nite's programming which included "I Love Lucy", "Bewitched", "The Brady Bunch", "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "The Wonder Years", "Happy Days", etc.  To this day, climbing into bed and flipping on the TV instantly puts me back in that comfy, homey feeling of being eight years old with no worries and no fears.  I'm home again, as corny as that sounds.

It also doesn't hurt that I have been collecting Lucille Ball memorabilia since I was ten years old and um, hello?  Is there anyone else that embodies classic television like her?  Henry Winkler comes in a close second.

Therefore, henceforth, furthermore and IN CONCLUSION: this here's mah blog.  I'll post random musings, quips (QUIP QUIP CHERRIO) and I will probably fill up this little white box with lots of wedding planning stuff because OH MY GOD I AM GETTING MARRIED.  I didn't mention that, did I?  October 20th, 2012 is the day.  And I have everything planned out exactly.  Except for the aesthetic of my wedding.  Or the dress.  Or the colors.  Or the bridesmaids' dresses.  Or the table arrangements.  Or the food.  Or the location.  But I do have a groom!  And a first dance (Frank's "It Had To Be You").  So you know.  That's a start.

  1. WE CAN HAS A BLOGS! I am following you! And I'm excited for us! And you better post wedding plans here so I can be a part of it!

p.s. I wish The Wonder Years was still on TV (is it anywhere?). I watched and loved every single episode of that show and did you know Winnie is like a genius scientist or mathematician or something and she had a baby?

  2. YAY BLOGS!

I looooved The Wonder Years and it makes me very sad that I can't find it. I don't even think they have them out on DVD yet! And I did not know that Winnie was such a damn genius, but it makes sense! And didn't Kevin play #3 with the moley moley moley moley moley on his face in Austin Powers?
